Search Engine Marketing, or SEM for short, and Banner Ads are two ways to harness the power of the web.

SEM  is Pay-Per-Click advertising. Meaning, you create ads for a particular search engine. Then, based on how much you are willing to spend, and the relevence of your content to a searcher's keyword search, your ad can appear either at the top of the search page or on the side of the page. Banner Ads  are the image based, motion ads appearing on most websites. They are strategically placed on web sites and their particular pages relevent, to a viewer's interest.
